About LEDs

Q: What types of LED products does Alpinetech produce?
A: Our engineers can produce any type of custom lighting system you desire, with the quality and price you need. Our specialty includes tail lamps, side-marker lamps, running-board lamps, Center High Mount Stop Lamps (CHMSL), LED lamp replacements, Panel mount indicators, Illuminated push button switches, etc.

Q: Can Alpinetech control the lighting dispersion angles of their LED lamps?
A: Ingenious optical engineering allows Alpinetech to fulfill most any lighting dispersion need. And yes, we have LEDfs with view angles from 8‹ to 120‹. Some new versions have a 360‹ radial light output.

Q: Does Alpinetech manufacture lighting systems other than LEDfs?
A: Yes, Alpinetech manufactures a variety of high quality non-LED lighting systems and components. These include SAE/DOT and E Mark approved automotive fog, driving, and High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps.

Q: So Alpinetech does "see the light" beyond LEDfs?
A: Yes, but LEDfs are our main focus. As a matter of fact, we have bulb replacement units that will fit in the same socket as, and therefore replacing, conventional incandescent bulb with filament applications.

Q: What is the power usage of LED lamps?
A: LEDfs draw up to 90% less power than conventional incandescent bulbs. This makes LEDfs more power efficient, and thereby lowering operational costs.

Q: What other advantages are there to lower power draw?
A: The lower power draw of LEDfs greatly decrease total power supply demands on an electrical system. Sometimes this can make a lighting option feasible, instead of being impossible.

Q: How long do LEDfs last?
A: LED bulbs have a very long service life compared to incandescent bulbs. Most LEDfs have an estimated life of 50,000 to 100,000 hours when properly current driven.

Q: Itfs obvious that with the use of LEDfs it wonft be necessary to purchase filament bulbs on a regular basis, and that saves money. Are there other money saving advantages to long life?
A: Increased bulb life equals reduced service labor needs, thereby saving service labor dollars. Lower power consumption and current draw equals savings on Utility bills.

Q: How about reliability?
A: LEDfs are of a very compact and simplistic design and possess inherent structural stability. LEDfs are solid-state devices making them far less susceptible to damage from environmental influences, such as vibration. Reliability makes LED usage ideal for most applications.

Q: It makes sense that the LED design allows for excellent reliability, but is there other advantages to their compact and simplistic design?
A: Simplistic and compact, LED lamp assemblies can replace more complex conventional applications, allowing manufacturers to simplify the design of their finished product. This reduces assembly time, and the assembly materials needed for production, saving time, money, and increasing end product reliability.
